Ambassador Victor Emmanuel Smith brings over three decades of public service, diplomacy, and private-sector investment advisory to his role representing Ghana in Washington, D.C. He previously served as Ghana's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Ireland, Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia, Eastern Regional Minister, and Presidential Advisor across three administrations. During his UK tenure, bilateral trade between Ghana and the UK grew by 18%. As CEO of Victor Smith & Associates, he has brokered over US$250 million in foreign direct investment into West Africa across energy, mining, agribusiness, and infrastructure. He also mediated a historic interethnic peace accord in Ghana's Eastern Region, paving the way for over US$75 million in infrastructure development. Ambassador Smith holds an MBA in International Business from the University of Wales Business School and a BSc. (Hons) in Maritime Studies.
