ABOUT US

Where Diaspora Energy Becomes Africa’s Future

OUR VISION

A world where the collective power of the global African diaspora drives entrepreneurship, forges transformative partnerships, facilitates knowledge exchange, generates lasting social impact, and fosters human capital development across Africa and its diaspora communities worldwide.

OUR MISSION

We convene Africans from the continent, descendants of Africa — including African Americans and Afro-Caribbeans — and allies to create an ecosystem that nurtures entrepreneurial spirit and mobilizes intellectual and financial resources for a prosperous future. Through strategic partnerships and innovative programs, we serve as a catalyst for positive change and growth in Africa, its diaspora, and global communities.

The African diaspora sends over $90 billion to Africa every year, more than all international foreign aid combined.

That is extraordinary power. And for too long, it was left on the table.

The African Diaspora Network (ADN) exists to change that. We are a global platform that turns diaspora energy into Africa’s development impact, through knowledge, community, and action. We convene Africans from the continent, descendants of Africa, including African Americans and Afro-Caribbeans, and allies to build an ecosystem that nurtures entrepreneurial spirit and mobilizes intellectual and financial resources toward a prosperous future.

Since our founding in 2010 in Silicon Valley, ADN has grown into a community of 50,000+ members worldwide, entrepreneurs, investors, philanthropists, scientists, and changemakers committed to a future where diaspora energy builds the continent together. We are just getting started.

We Inform.

Before investment flows and partnerships form, the right narrative must exist. ADN reaches 50,000+ individuals across 115 countries with curated content, thought leadership, and storytelling that replaces the narrative of aid dependency with one of entrepreneurship, innovation, investment, and co-creation. We helped establish the “Beyond Remittances” paradigm — now recognized widely by funders and policymakers, because the diaspora deserves to be seen as a strategic partner, not just a source of wire transfers.

We Engage.

Knowledge alone does not move capital. ADN creates the intentional spaces — convenings, forums, accelerators, and platforms, where informed people find each other and the African entrepreneurs who need them. In 15 years, our convenings have brought together more than 12,000 participants from 115+ countries, building 65+ partnerships with institutions focusing on topics from tech to academia. Companies like Gebeya and Flutterwave trace their origin stories to connections made at ADN convenings.

We Act.

Engagement without action is just networking. ADN converts connections into investment, enterprise, and measurable outcomes. We have supported 200+ entrepreneurs with access to mentorship, funding, and strategic partnerships, creating 1,634 jobs and counting. Fifty-seven percent of our alumni directly attribute their enterprise growth to ADN, where they raised close to $20 million dollars collectively. This is the Beyond Remittances paradigm made real.
