Attorney-Advisor (General) (Bilingual)

The U.S. African Development Foundation is in search of an Attorney-Advisor to provide legal and policy advice to the Board of Directors, the President and CEO (P/CEO), and staff of USADF. A valued member of USADF’s Senior Leadership team, the Attorney-Advisor reports directly to the P/CEO and serves as the agency representative and counselor on legal matters dealing with administrative and operational issues. U.S. citizenship and fluency in French are among the requirements for this position. USADF is operating under a hybrid model of in-person work at the USADF Washington, D.C. office and from approved telework locations.

External Affairs (Public Affairs) Assistant

(Open only to U.S. citizens or Legal Permanent Residents based in the Washington, D.C. area): USADF is hiring a Washington D.C.-based External Affairs (Public Affairs) Assistant in the External and Government Affairs Division, Office of Communications. The Contractor will perform a variety of high-level and highly visible assignments that support the Agency’s communication strategy. The External Affairs Assistant performs a substantial role assisting the Office of Communication in delivering digital and written content and evaluating the effectiveness of USADF’s external engagement efforts. The Contractor assists in maintaining the Foundation’s web and social media presence, creatively developing the calendar, scheduling content posts, and conducting market research on best practices and followership. The Contractor also assists with publicity efforts to obtain media coverage of newsworthy events, assists in planning special events, and coordinates communication efforts with USADF funding partners.

Communications Specialist 

(Open only to U.S. citizens or Legal Permanent Residents based in the Washington, D.C. area): USADF is hiring a Washington D.C.-based Communications Specialist in the External and Government Affairs Division, Office of Communications. The Contractor will participate in the development and execution of a strategic communications plan for the Agency. This role entails the development of written products to promote USADF’s brand and demonstrate its relevance and results in grassroots economic development in African communities. The Communications Specialist will serve as the Campaigns Manager responsible for programming USADF grantees, staff, and funding partners, and will maintain relationships with the Communications teams of USADF co-funding government, corporate foundation, and U.S. government partners to proactively amplify the partnerships and their impact in African communities.

Graphic Design Specialist

(Open only to U.S. citizens or Legal Permanent Residents based in the Washington, D.C. area): USADF is hiring a Washington D.C.-based Graphic Designer in the External and Government Affairs Division, Office of Communications. The Contractor will serve as an authoritative source on USADF branding standards and guidelines; develop and coordinate creative designs to enhance storytelling on USADF and our grantees’ impact in improving lives and livelihoods in African communities; produce layouts and subject matter information that demonstrate advanced working knowledge and familiarity with design and communication strategy across all media platforms; provide advanced technical consultation and support in visual communications and computer graphics; and coordinate with vendors and contractors on product development and print graphic material to ensure technical requirements and agency needs are met in delivery of these services.

Grants Management Specialist

This position is part of the U.S. African Development Foundation (USADF), Program Division. The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing and assessing projects proposed for funding to ensure they comply with USADF’s technical, financial, and due diligence requirements as well as the Agency’s policies and administrative procedures and processes.
