For fifteen years, African Diaspora Network (ADN) has been dedicated to convening Africans, diasporans, and allies of Africa to create an ecosystem that nurtures entrepreneurial spirit and mobilizes intellectual and financial resources for a prosperous future. ADN has trained over 160 entrepreneurs in Africa and the United States, providing them with valuable courses, mentorship, and funding to scale their ventures, and their impact on the communities they serve.

In 2021 launched the Accelerating Black Leadership and Entrepreneurship (ABLE) program which has supported 54 Black entrepreneurs who are addressing essential community needs and spurring sustainable growth.

I believe in the mission of the network. There is this great opportunity for Africans in the diaspora to really support development in the continent especially from the prespective of where we invest the resources that we have. We're not talking about charity. We're talking about an opportunity to invest in entrepreneurs. It's great to help accelerate the transformation that is happening on the continent and it will also help make all of us be more effective leaders.

This symposium was the first time I thought of my power as a global Nigerian who, even after finally ‘returning home’, still considers herself part of the African Diaspora. As I transition into the next half of my career, I will specifically think more about how to better leverage that power and network.

ADIS is a wonderful collection of inspiring leaders from across the globe that have this wonderful connection of affiliation and inspiration from the continent. Being from Atlanta, Georgia where we do have a vibrant diaspora community, I love being able to engage here in the Bay Area with such a variety of folks who have come in from Africa as well as many people in the States here.
